The Birth of Gekkoso’s New Sketchbook, “Shibo”

新タイプの月光荘スケッチブック《シボ》誕生

The Gekkoso challenge continues. New personalities have been added to the Gekkoso sketchbook!

New Sketchbook〈Shibo〉
The paper surface and the paintbrush dance after the rain

"Shibo" refers to the small irregularities on the surface of a material. The new Shibo sketchbook from Gekkoso is characterized by its "textured paper surface," just as its name suggests.

The durable paper surface flexibly responds to the rich water of watercolor brush strokes and the powerful pressure of pencils and pens. The natural whiteness of the paper enhances the color of the paint and reflects the artist's touch perfectly, making it truly "paper that dances with the paintbrush."

【Features】
Each pencil has a medium and fine grain on both sides, allowing you to choose the right one to suit your needs. The textured side allows for more expressive brushstrokes and smudges, while the smooth side is ideal for layering and creating subtle shading.

- Lightweight and easy to use thanks to top-glue binding: Instead of the usual ring binding, we use "top-glue binding," which glues only the top edge of the stack of pages together. Each page can be peeled off cleanly, making handling your work very easy. There are no perforations, so the edges of the pages do not get messy, allowing you to preserve your work beautifully.

- Water-resistant and color-retaining thanks to a special neutral finish, it prevents discoloration and does not easily become fuzzy even when washed or wiped. It also withstands masking and erasing, ensuring a stable drawing experience.
- Natural white that supports color development. The slightly warm white does not impair the saturation of the paint, resulting in a beautiful finish that makes the colors seem to breathe in the light.

[Recommended usage]
It works well with a variety of art materials, including watercolor, gouache, pen, pencil, crayon, and mixed media, and is especially recommended for those who want to enjoy the expression of "bleeding" and "blurring."
