Immerse yourself in the world of Gekkoso at MAISON GEKKOSO

月光荘の世界に浸る MAISON GEKKOSO

Gekkoso is a Japanese company, but we deal in Western art supplies. While we manufacture products rooted in European history, we are deeply influenced by Japanese culture and aesthetics. In today's world where the world is rapidly connecting, we feel the need for Gekkoso to actively express the necessity of Made in Japan.

The founder of Gekkoso had close ties with many artists who pursued a uniquely Japanese aesthetic sense, including Akiko Yosano, Genichiro Inokuma, Tsuguharu Foujita, Isamu Noguchi, Shiko Munakata, Shoji Hamada, and Bernard Leach. What is Japanese culture and what is the Japanese aesthetic sense? Gekkoso opened its Reiwa teahouse, "MAISON GEKKOSO," in the basement of its art supply store as a space where you can experience such things.

While enjoying coffee brewed with water boiled in a tea kettle, matcha latte, and sweets made by a pastry chef, you can also view works by artists who were friends with Gekkoso, famous folk art furniture, and exhibitions by contemporary artists in the gallery at the back of the store.

The walls are painted in cobalt blue, a memorable color that Gekkoso used as the first paint in Japan to successfully develop entirely domestically, making you feel as if you have wandered into a different dimension that transcends time.

Because the tea room is small, it is a place where the hearts of all present can connect. Stimulate your senses in a genuine art space, fill your soul with conversation with your friends, and end the evening with clam soup made with water boiled in a tea kettle. The concept is "a crossroads of sensibility where the mind and body are in harmony."

In this teahouse in Ginza, where Japanese and Western aesthetics are in perfect harmony, please immerse yourself in the flow of history and enjoy a moment filled with the aroma of culture. Please feel free to drop by.
