Made of willow in the charcoal burner's garden in Kanagawa. Willow is soft and brings out dark bluish black. Very smooth when you draw a line on a paper and easy to manipulate the lines.
It takes years and so many processes from growing a tree to a stick of charcoal. It all happens because of love and dedication of a craftsman.
