Gekkoso [Aluminum Pallet]

月光荘[アルミパレット]

Aluminum is a very light material that absorbs pigments very little, resulting in accurate color reproduction.

In 1945, the Paris Color Society conducted color tests on a silver-gray palette to determine the most accurate color. This led to Gekkoso's palette being made of aluminum. As a result of joint research between color scientists and ophthalmologists, it was concluded that color identification is best done on a silver-gray board.

It won the Good Design Award in 2014. If you take good care of it, it will be a lifelong companion.

● Manufacturing process
1. The rust-proof aluminum plate is punched out into a lid shape using a die (blank processing).
2. Grind and smooth out the burrs (jagged edges) around the edge.
3. To form the product, the product is pressed into a three-dimensional mold that is shaped like a lid.
4. The curl of the hinge part that connects to the main body is shaped with a bender in two or three steps so that it does not get crushed.
5. Punch out the finger holes
6. The top is pressed inward and the protrusion that secures the lid is pressed into the center of the outside.
7. Gekkoso logo and horn mark engraved
8. Anodize the lid and tray. * Immerse in an electrolyte of hydrochloric acid or oxalic acid, and pass a positive electrode through it to create an oxide film on the aluminum surface. This coating process improves resistance to corrosion, scratches, and other wear.
9. Combine the lid and the tray and insert the metal rod to join them.
10. Check for distortion and make final adjustments such as occlusion to complete the procedure.
