Gekkoso only carries one type of pencil. With just one 8B pencil, you can freely draw thick or thin lines, dark or light, depending on how you sharpen it. The soft and smooth writing feel, specially baked to order, is unique to Gekkoso.
The exquisite thickness of the wooden shaft means that you don't have to apply too much pressure, so you won't get tired even if you draw for a long time. The finish is such that it doesn't have a lead-like feel, so you can draw thick, black lines like ink.
The imagination glides effortlessly across the paper. This is truly the king of pencils. A pencil that continues to be loved.
<8B pencil manufacturing process>
■Making the lead・Add water to the natural graphite powder and clay and mix well・Extrude the mixed material in the same way as a water gun to make a thin lead, cut it to the same length and dry it・Bake it at a high temperature of about 1000℃ for a day and a night・By soaking the hardened lead in an appropriate amount of oil, a lead that is hard to break and has a smooth writing feel is created.
■ Making the shaft: Incense cedar is processed to make boards for the shaft called slats.
■ Assemble the core and shaft. Dig a groove into the slat to fit the core, apply glue, and place the core into the groove. Place another slat with the groove on top and glue it together. Shave each side into the shape of a pencil. Apply paint 6 to 7 times using a rubber-like machine with holes. Cut the ends to adjust the length. Stamp the horn mark.
