After many discussions with hand towel specialty store Kamawanu about everything from design to fabric selection, we decided to take the Azuma bag, which tends to have a Japanese-style image, to a modern design.
In this second edition, we will deliver a bright cobalt blue gazebo bag that is eye-catching and easy to use.
Despite its simple construction, which allows you to handle it by simply tying the left and right triangles tightly together, the bottom of the fabric has a large gusset and a string to secure it, so the contents remain stable when carried in your hand. It has an appearance that makes you feel that it has evolved from a furoshiki.
The biggest feature of Azuma bags is that they can be shaped freely to suit the purpose. This is also a major feature of Japanese culture, which is called "setsurae." A Japanese-style room can be quickly transformed into a dining room by placing a dining table, or a bedroom by placing a futon. Similarly, this Azuma bag, which is filled with the wisdom of the common people of the Edo period, can be used in a variety of situations, such as for small shopping, as a lunch box, or as a bag-in-bag for traveling.
